Dynamics » Lightweight Hammer Shock Testing (MIL-S-901 Certified)
E-Labs offers advanced lightweight hammer shock testing to ensure shipboard installations can endure extreme shock loads. This testing simulates critical conditions, such as a torpedo strike on the hull of a ship, using a 400 lb. hammer dropped from heights up to 5 feet. The hammer impacts the fixture holding the test item, recreating severe shock environments.
Our facilities are fully equipped and certified to meet MIL-S-901 standards, ensuring compliance for Department of Defense requirements. During testing, the item is securely mounted to an anvil plate and subjected to hammer impacts from 1, 3, and 5-foot heights. Strikes are delivered in multiple orientations — top, back, and side — to represent various operational conditions.
The E-Labs Light Weight Shock Test System is approved by the U.S. Department of the Navy, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Code 669, for MIL-S-901 High Impact, Light Weight Shock Testing. Trust E-Labs for rigorous testing that meets the highest defense standards.
